Healing Beyond Symptoms
You don’t have to carry this alone.
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Drew Follett, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC/MHSP). I offer in-person therapy in Knoxville, TN and virtually online in both Tennessee and South Carolina.
Whether you’re working through trauma, feeling stuck in old patterns, or you just know something needs to change, I’m here to help you find your footing again and walk a different path. My approach blends evidence-based methods like Brainspotting with a grounded, human way of working together, no jargon, no pretending to have it all figured out. Just real support, at your pace.
I work with individuals navigating trauma, athletes looking to break through mental blocks, people exploring Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as part of their healing, or many other life challenges.
Therapy
For people who have already tried therapy
I believe therapy works best when it feels less like a clinical appointment and more like a real conversation with someone who’s genuinely in your corner.
As an LPC/MHSP practicing in Knoxville, I work with adults and teens facing anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and the kind of stuck feeling that talk therapy alone hasn’t quite resolved. My style is warm and direct, I’ll ask real questions, I’ll be honest with you, and I’ll never make you feel like a diagnosis instead of a person.
How I work:
Most of my clients come to me after trying therapy before and feeling like something was missing. Often what’s missing isn’t more talking, it’s addressing where the distress actually lives: in the nervous system, not just the narrative. That’s why, alongside more traditional talk-therapy tools, Brainspotting and KAP are so integral to how I practice,
Sessions are available in-person at my Knoxville office or online, depending on what works for your schedule and comfort level.
Brainspotting
Trauma isn’t just a memory, it’s stored in the body and nervous system, often outside conscious awareness. Which is why talking about an experience doesn’t always resolve the distress attached to it. That’s where Brainspotting comes in.
Brainspotting, developed by Dr. David Grand, is a focused-mindfulness approach that uses eye position to access and process where trauma is held, based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel. I use it because it’s gentle, doesn’t require constantly retelling your story, and helps people move through trauma that’s felt permanently stuck, old injuries, performance blocks, grief, both single-incident and long-term.
If you’re carrying something that talk therapy hasn’t fully touched, this may be the missing piece.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
For some people, especially those dealing with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, or trauma, traditional talk therapy alone isn’t enough. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines the therapeutic use of ketamine, a legal, medically supervised dissociative medicine, with structured psychotherapy support before, during, and after the experience. This structure and medicine combines to access emotional material and insight that often feels out of reach. It’s not a quick fix, or miracle cure, it’s a structured, supported process, and I’ll walk you through what to expect at every step, including whether it’s the right fit for you.
Reclaim Your Game
Reclaim Your Game is a program built specifically for athletes, whether you’re dealing with performance anxiety, recovering from injury, facing burnout, or stuck in a mental block that’s affecting how you play. Athletes carry pressure differently, and it takes an approach that understands that world, not generic talk therapy.
Using Brainspotting alongside performance-focused therapeutic strategies, we work on things like performance anxiety, mental blocks after injury (the “yips,” hesitation, fear of re-injury), burnout, confidence, and processing high-pressure or traumatic sports experiences, so you can get unstuck and compete the way you know you’re capable of.
